1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use VakeelNama on the web or in the app, as a client, a lawyer, a law firm or a clerk. By creating an account you agree to them.
2. VakeelNama is not a law firm
We help clients find advocates and help advocates run their practice. We do not give legal advice, and using VakeelNama does not create a lawyer and client relationship with us. That relationship is between you and the lawyer you choose.
3. Your account
You sign in with a Pakistani mobile number. You must be at least 18, give accurate information, and keep your account to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has used it.
4. For clients
You decide what to share about your matter and which lawyer to engage. Fees, timelines and the work itself are agreed directly between you and the lawyer. We do not guarantee any outcome.
5. For lawyers
You must hold a valid enrolment with a Bar Council in Pakistan and keep it current. You remain responsible for complying with the Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act 1973, the rules made under it, and the canons of professional conduct, including those on solicitation of work.
6. Verification
We check the documents you provide before showing you as verified, and may remove the tick or the profile if information turns out to be wrong or an enrolment lapses. Verification is a check of documents, not an endorsement of your work.
7. Plans and payments
Paid plans run for the period you pay for and renew only if you choose. Prices exclude sales tax, which you may add at checkout. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the plan stays active until the period ends.
8. Referrals
Individual advocates can earn plans by referring colleagues. A referral counts once, only after the person referred is verified, and never for duplicate or self-referred accounts. We may withdraw an earned plan if referrals are not genuine.
9. Acceptable use
Do not post false information, impersonate anyone, harass other users, upload content you have no right to share, or use VakeelNama for anything unlawful, including offences under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016.
10. Your content and practice data
What you write, upload and record stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service. Practice data (cases, clients, fees) is private to you and the people you add.
11. Liability
We work to keep VakeelNama available and accurate, but provide it as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the advice a lawyer gives, the result of a case, or losses from relying on general information in our guides.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Courts at Islamabad have jurisdiction over disputes about them.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by message before it applies.
